Tea with Hungry LucyHappy 1 year Anniversary to Tea with Hungry Lucy! Christa and War-N celebrate 1 year of netcasts with a VERY silly trip down memory lane, lovingly assembled by Christa. The Story Behind the song segment makes a triumphant return as the duo discuss the song Cover Me (from the album, Apparitions). Hard to believe that song was written and recorded 8 years ago! As War-N becomes progressively more drunk (from yummy Woodford Reserve), the conversation turns to OPM (Other People’s Music). This week War-N talks about the glitchy, sexy goodness of Samarah (from on of HL’s fave towns, Madison, WI). Christa talks about Johnny Lang and his bluesy, R&B goodness. Just before War-N actually tumbles from his chair, the episode finishes with a lovely message from Grant Mason of the delicious Three from Leith podcast.

Tea with Hungry Lucy“YAWN”. I think that’s a pretty accurate description to how this week’s episode starts out. A bit of random silliness, insults to Fathers of Pod and a domestic session with Sparky the Cook. CB announces the winner of the Electronic Music CEA (Cincinnati Entertainment Awards), Diet Audio, and sighs a surprisingly comforting sigh of relief that it wasn’t HL who won! OPM’s from War-N were the ever-glitchy Severed Heads‘ new album Under Gail Succubus and a new found artist Kate Havnevik. CB talked highly of the new album from EvanescenceThe Open Door” and agreed with Sam (trigger10d) that it was an excellent album. After they ramble on for a bit, the episode ends with a strange Tiny Tim impression from CB and a recollection of old episodes of Dr. Who. Good gracious… what will the next year of TWHL hold?? Utter bollocks we suspect!

Tea with Hungry LucyBirds!! This week finds CB & War-N making new music, cleaning out their basement and parting with some musical instruments that were used in their early tracks. CB tells us a bit on her writing method, how she begins, and introduces us to a new piano piece she wrote only this morning. OPM selections included Lily Holbrook from Christa’s choice list as well as Saskia and Nouvelle Vague from War-N. War-N found these artists on a fabulous, new music sharing site named HayStack.com. Apparitions is discussed quite a bit due to SHOUTOUT postings, and new found appreciation is found by both CB & War-N. After all, it is how they got started! Christa reads a wonderful listener e-mail and the duo share their thoughts on that. War-N tells us about a very elaborate new video for the song Storm that was created by Sedona Grace Productions & Miss Aeryn Parker Productions.

Always feel free to tell us what is on your mind!. Why Netcast?

Tea with Hungry LucyWhat’s that sweet music I hear? That’s the sound of a new, non-silly intro for the duo Hungry Lucy’s fabby netcast! Inspired by the day, War-N decided to get up and write some new tunes. Thusly, the new intro was born. After the intro, the couple discussed their Halloween and all the treats, painting their ceiling (FINALLY!), how many cats Christa’s had since childhood (10 thus far!) and what she wants for Christmas. Skebbie asked, so CB answered :) War-N’s OPM was the artist BT. War-N explains a bit about BT, his latest release (This Binary Universe) and why he likes him. CB’s OPM’s were Willie Nelson and his new version of “Amazing Grace” that she and War-N heard by chance while on an errand, and the other was José Gonzalez suggested by their friend Sam of trigger10d. Good call Sam!! José also works with Zero 7. War-N also mentioned that Imogen Heap is touring the US again in Nov/Dec. Remember Tuesday November 7th is election day here in the US. Vote if you are at all able. All the issues count!!! While you’re at it, vote for Hungry Lucy in the YouTube Underground contest!
